(1)Qualification requirements for application
|
|
Applicants can be companies, groups or individuals of any nationality.
Applicants are required to submit the contest application in either
Japanese or English.
|
(2)Application Style
|
|
1.Implementation Award
|
Please send your implemented works via media, such as CD-ROM, or upload your works via FTP. To upload via FTP, please contact the Appli-Contest Office apc-sec@v6pc.jp to have your password and ID issued.
Please include a description of the development concept, features and conditions required for performance. Submissions should be horizontally formatted for A4-size stationary, and the typeface on entries must be over 10 points. Also, descriptions must be limited to 3 pages.
Please upload the attachment files in Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF file format to your home directory on the FTP server.
Your software upload should be accompanied by the following documents:
- Development Concept
Microsoft PowerPoint or txt. file.
Title the file [Abstract.ppt (or Abstract.txt, etc.)] and include the
following content:
- the basic purpose of the software
- which portion of the software was implemented specifically for the contest
(if this is not an original software development)
- appeal point - the merit of using IPv6 etc.
- how you project the software would actually be used
- Platform/conditions necessary for installation/running the program
(OS, tool, software version etc.)
txt. file should be titled [ReadMe.txt] and include the following:
- OS
- all necessary tools - acquisition and installation methods
- installation/set up/run procedures for your implementation
* Include the source code for your software implementation
- Results
Microsoft PowerPoint, .txt or PDF format
Title the file [Result.ppt (or Result.txt, movie file, etc.)] and include the following:
- screen capture photo and explanation
* If a movie file is available showing the software running, please include this in your upload files.

2.Idea Award
|
Idea Award entries were closed as of the April 10, 2003 deadline.
An Award Ceremony was held on May 13, 2003.
|

|
3.Conditions for Application
|
1.
|
Entries must be unpublished and unsold at the time of application.
|
2.
|
The number of entries per applicant is unlimited.
|
3.
|
Submitted entries will be disclosed on the competition website.
|
4.
|
Costs associated with entry must be paid for by the applicant.
|
5.
|
Please submit entries after ensuring that the submission does
not invade any copyrights or related rights of others.
When copyrighted or related rights materials, such as art, motion
picture, photography or music are used, please ensure approval
from the rights holders before applying.
If an invasion of rights or compensation for loss is insisted
by a third party, the applicant must take full responsibility
and handle the issue. The contest host will not be held responsible
for such issues.

Concerning any damage or loss which may occur during transportation
or the contest, or any other related damages, the contest host
will not accept responsibility for compensation. If applicable,
applicants must have insurance for entries or related documents.
|
7.
|
The applicant will maintain all applicable intellectual, technology
and design copyrights for the entries submitted to the contest,
but the right for disclosure and distribution of entries submitted
will belong to both the applicant and the contest host.
|
8.
|
If the contest host reproduces or edits the entry for the sake
of judgment, the control of the reproduction is endowed to the
contest host.
|
9.
|
Entries submitted become the property of the contest and cannot
be returned.
|
10.
|
Concerning matters not detailed in the Rules for Application,
any decision required by the contest host will be considered final.
If the applicant disapproves of the decision, the applicant may
withdraw from the contest within 7 days of notification.
|
11.
|
The Rules for Application are based upon, interpreted and made
effective by Japanese law. If a legal issue arises, the Tokyo
district court will be the exclusive agreement jurisdictional
court of first instance.

4.Procedure for Application and Deadline.
|
1.

Please complete and send the registration application form.
Upon receipt, contest staff will provide applicants with the location to send contest entries and related materials.
By submitting the application form, it is assumed that the applicant has complied with the Conditions for Application, and the applicant agrees to the rules set by the contest holder before, during,and after the contest.

2.
|
Please submit entries during the application period to the provided location. If notification of the location is delayed by the contest host, the deadline may be modified.
|
3.
|
The deadline for the Idea Award was April 10, 2003. Idea Award entries are no longer accepted.
|
4.
|
The deadlines for the Implementation Award are structured in two stages:
- First Stage (original deadline)

- Second Stage (extended deadline)
